Members of the Narcotics Control Department (NCD) in a raid arrested three people including a woman with 7,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from city’s Bakalia area yesterday morning.
The arrested were Rizia Aktar, 25, Kabir Hossain, 46, both hailing from Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar and Rashid Ali, 35, hailed from Cox’s Bazar Sadar area.
On a tip-off, a team of the NCD raided a passengers bus in front of Mir Filling Station near Karnaphuli Bridge under city’s Bakalia thana and arrested them with the contraband drugs, said Topon Kanti Shawrma, inspector of NCD, Chittagong Metropolitan Zone.
The arrested were handed over to Bakalia Police Station and a case was filed in this connection, he added.
