Police arrested three persons from Chittagong city and Cumilla early on Wednesday in connection with the killing of Jasim, 20, a worker at a tailor shop, who was stabbed to death early on Tuesday, in the port city’s Bakalia area. The arrestees are Md Raju, 23, Md Rony, 21, and Md Nuru, 20, said OC Pranab Kumar Chowdhury of Bakalia Police Station.
The trio told police that they attacked Jasim while one Mobarak stabbed him with a knife. “We’re looking for Mobarak and other accused,” the OC said.
Five ‘muggers’ arrested: Police during a raid in Chittagong Railway Station area arrested five alleged muggers with three knives on Wednesday .
The arrestees are Md Sabuj, 24; Md Shamsul Haque, 23; Jahirul Islam, 25; Shahadat Hossain, 19; and Md Hridoy, 22, said a press release.
On information, a team of police from Kotwali Police Station conducted a drive in the area and made the arrests. During interrogation, they “admitted” that they were taking preparation to commit a robbery, it added.
