Police on Tuesday arrested three people for their alleged involvement in the ‘rape’ of a schoolgirl at the residence of a municipality councilor on Monday.
The arrestees are-Osman Goni, 16, son of Shahidul Islam, councilor of No 6 ward in the municipality , Riduar Ali Khandaker, 16, son of Khandaker Md Obaidul Haque, of Srimantapur village and Tareque, 17, son of Mostafa of Jodgemaidas area.
Khairul Islam, officer-in-charge of Godagari Police Station, said police arrested the trio on Monday night for their suspected involvement in the rape of a ninth grader in the afternoon of the day.
The victim’s father filed a rape case with Godagari Police Station against them, the OC added.
According to the case statement, the trio called the girl to the house and violated her there .
The OC said the victim was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital’s One Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) for test.
