3 held over disgracing Barishal madrasah super

Police here on Monday arrested three people over disgracing a madrasah superintendent pouring human excretion into his head in Bakerganj upazila as the video footage of the incident has gone viral on Facebook.
The arrestees were identified as Miraj Hossain Sohagh, Minju Hawladar, 45, son of Md Hasem of Kathalia village, and Belal Hossain, 25, son of Harun Hawladar.
It was seen in the video footage that Md Abu Hanif, superintendent of Kathalia Islamia Dakhil Madrasah, was walking through a road in Rangashri union when a group of people intercepted him.
One of them took off his cap from the head and scarf wrapped around his neck. As the madrasah super brought his mobile phone out of his pocket, another man snatched it.
Another person held Hanif’s hands while other took off a pot from a bag and poured human excretion into his head from it.
The miscreants also threatened to kill him if he disclosed the incident.
Barishal Police Superintendent Md Saiful Islam said the incident took place around 7 am on May 11.
The miscreants also took video footage of the incident and spread it on Facebook.
On Sunday, the victim filed a case accusing eight people with Bakerganj Police Station in this regard.
Mentioning that a total of 10-12 people are involved in the incident, the SP said no one will be spared.
Abu Hanif alleged that a gang of miscreants, led by Jahanagir, was trying to grab the land of the madrasah and a case is pending in this regard.
