Wahidunnabi, 47, Arafat Tarunno Tamadi, 37, and Abdullah Jabid, 45, were picked up from Shyamoli.
The move was taken just few days before the 11th National Election to be held on December 30.
“The detainees were using Facebook and other
social media platforms to spread misinformation about the government,” said Mohiuddin Faruki, Deputy Commander of the RAB-2.
“They use Facebook for their business purpose, but now they are spreading rumours,” RAB official said.
They were involved with disseminating anti-state rumour on social media platforms especially Facebook, he said.
Among them, Wahidunnabi was previously accused in cases filed under the Digital Security Act at Jatrabari, Mirpur and Paltan.
