3 girl HSC examinees commit suicide

Three girl students, who failed in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations this year, committed suicide in Manikganj, Khulna and Panchagarh districts on Thursday and Friday.
The relatives and the police assumed that the HSC examinees could feel depression after the publication of the results and the depression forced them to commit the suicide.
In Manikganj, Mitu Akter, daughter of Mosaddek Hossain of Kusta Village in Ghior upazila committed suicide by taking poison on Friday morning.
Officer-in-Charge of Ghior Police Station Rabiul Islam said, Mitu committed suicide after hearing that she failed to pass the HSC examination.
The body was recovered and sent to hospital for autopsy, he said.
In Khulna, Oisharya Roy, 18, daughter of Babul Roy, committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan around 11:00pm of Thursday at Maniktala in the city, said Kazi Mustaq Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur Police Station. She appeared in the examination from Mohsin Mohila College.  
In Panchagarh, Shabnur Akter, 19, daughter of Rafiqul Islam of East Jalshi in the district town, committed suicide for failing to secure pass marks in this year’s HSC examination.
She appeared in the examination from Panchagarh Government College and failed for the second time, said Rabiul Hasan Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge of Paanchagarh Police Station.
