A court here on Thursday convicted three people and sentenced them to life term rigorous imprisonment for killing a man in 2005.
The convicts were identified as Abdur Rashid,42, son of Kadar Ali alias Kalar Bap, Alhaj Uddin alias Alkas Uddin 40, son of Kadar Ali, and Hormuj Ali 37, son of Wazed Ali of Adhpur village in Sadar upazila.
The court also fined them Tk50,000 each, in default, to suffer five years more of rigorous imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, Abul Kalam, a rickshaw-puller of Adhpur village, was killed by the convicts over a previous enmity and they dumped the body in the Mogra River on October 9, 2005.
