A court here on Thursday sentenced three people to life term imprisonment for murdering Nur Mistri in Enayetpur Thana in 2008.
The convicts were Rohij Uddin, 30; Badsa, 35; and Mahbub, 30.
The court also fined the convicted Tk 10,000 each, in default, rigorous imprisonment for six more months.
According to the prosecution, police recovered body of an unidentified person by a swamp, Saindar Bil, at Enayetpur upazila on January 7, 2008.
Union’s chowkidar Dina Chandra Das filed a case against some unknown persons with Enayetpur Police Station. After investigation, police submitted a charge sheet against four people on May 31, 2008.
After examining the records and witnesses, Begum Sheikh Merina Sultana, Additional District and Sessions Judge in Sirajganj, handed down the verdict.
