A mobile court conducted by Md. Manawar Hossain, UNO (Upazila Nirbahi Officer) and Executive Magistrate of Fakirhat in Bagerhat district convicted 3 gamblers and sentenced them to suffer simple imprisonment for 10 days on the charge of playing game of chance for money on Saturday morning, according to a report received here. The convicted persons are Naresh Bairagi (32), son of one Noni Gopal Bairagi of village Dahor-Moubhog under Fakirhat Upazila and Ashis Hira (35), son of one Kautuk Hira of the same village and Afzal Gazi (48), son of one Musa Gazi of village Gazipara under Fakirhat Upazila.
It is learnt from the police that acting on secret information that a number of persons are playing a game of chance for money in a watch room known as Gaighar of a fish farm of village Dahor-Moubhog village on Saturday morning a police squad of Fakirhat Model PS led by SI Rafiqul Islam, SI Tarikul Isam and ASI Abdullah-al-Mamun raided the fish farm and arrested the convicted persons from the Gaighar and brought them before Md. Manawar Hossain, UNO and Executive Magistrate, Fakirhat Upazila who conducted the Mobile Court and convicted the accused persons.
