Police recovered three bodies from the district town and Akkelpur upazila on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The body of a schoolgirl was recovered from Arafat Nagar in the district town last night. The deceased was identified as Tajnuba Nabila, daughter of Abdus Samad and a tenth grader student at Joypurhat Govt Girls High School.
It is being suspected that the girl killed herself after a family feud, police said.
Meanwhile, the body of a college student was recovered from a drug
addiction treatment centre in the town’s Truck Terminal area in the morning around 10am.
The deceased was identified as Imran Hossain, 17, son of Fariduddin of the municipality area. He was a student of Joypurhat Shaheed Zia Degree College.
Police said Imran killed himself at the drug treatment centre.
Abu Obayed, officer-in-charge of Akklepur Police Station, said locals found the body of a middle-aged man in the canal water near Akkelpur-Dhupchachia road of the upazila in the morning.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Joypurhat Modern Hospital for autopsy.
