The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Monday recorded the confessional statements of three female militants, who were detained from Azimpur militant den on September 10.
Three Metropolitan Magistrates the CMM Court recorded the confessional statements of militants under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code after Investigation Officer and Assistant Police Commissioner Ahsanul Haque produced the trio to the court on
completion of their remand. The three female militants are: militant Shakil’s wife Afrin Priyoti, Tanvir Kaderi’s wife Abedatul Fatema Khadiza and militant Zaman’s wife Sharmin Afrin. All of them admitted their involvement in the incident of Azimpur area on September 10. Later, they were sent to the jail.
A suspected militant was killed and eight persons, including five policemen and three female militants, were injured in the encounter in Azimpur area on September 10. On the next day, police filed a case against several alleged militants, including the three women with Lalbagh Police Station.
The women were injured in the encounter and a day after their medical treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, they were placed on the remand for interrogation by the police.
