UNB, Dhaka :A Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) mobile court punished three fake dentists in the city’s Karwan Bazar and Tejturi Bazar areas on Thursday night.Sources at the RAB-2 said a team of the elite force, led by its deputy director Major Syed Salahuddin Mahmud and Additional SP Md Mizanur Rahman, along with executive magistrate Mohammad Anisur Rahman first conducted a drive at Al Medina Dental Care and Dhaka Dental Care of Karwan Bazar Supermarket around 8pm.During the drive, they detained Md Akhtar Hossain, owner of Al Medina Dental Care, and Maulana GM Wahid, dentist of Dhaka Dental Care, on charge of giving treatment to the patients without valid licences.During interrogation, Akhtar revealed that he was detained by a mobile court on September 4, 2014 and sentenced to one year’s simple imprisonment on the same charge.He, however, again started the evil practice as a dentist soon after his release from jail on bail. Later, the mobile court sentenced him to two years’ simple jail and fined him Tk 1 lakh, in default, to suffer three months more in jail.
