A team of law enforcing agencies in a drive picked up three fake DB police from the city’s Motijheel area while they were taking bribe from the people by introducing themselves as the personnel of Detective Branch (DB) of Police on Monday afternoon.
The arrested men have been identified as Shahid Mia, Yusuf Ali, and Maniruzaman Manik.
They also seized a microbus from their possession during the drive, police said.
Abu Taher, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Motijheel Police Station, said, “A team of police raided in front of Agrani Bank Head Office area based on information at around 4:30pm and arrested them on suspicious movement.”
They were trying to take bribe from some people by threatening hazards, the police official said.
A case was filed for swindling money from people, he said.
