Police in a drive arrested three fake police personnel from Bhararia village of Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka district early Sunday.
The detained persons were identified as Liton Mia (46) of Joy Nagar village and Bablu Mia (28) of Pecha Khola village of Pabna district and Rasul Sikder (27) of Tebaria village of Gopalganj district.
Dhamrai Thana Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Nazmul Huda said that the accused claimed a large amount of money from an inhabitant by introducing themselves as police personnel.
Being informed, police arrested them from the
spot, the ASI said. The arrested persons were being interrogated in this connection, he said.
A case was filed regarding the matter with the police station.
