Three workers died from electrocution and two others were injured in Amin Bazar area of Savar on Tuesday morning.
Two of the deceased were identified as Sayedul, 30, and Shah Alam, 25. Babul Hossain, member of Aminbazar union parishad, said the five were electrocuted while
they were hanging up a signboard of ‘Rashid Dental Surgery’ in Aminbazar bus stand area around 8am. Three died on the spot and two others were injured critically. The injured were admitted at a private clinic of Savar.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy, said Mahbubur Rahman, senior superintendent of Savar Model Police Station.
Locals blamed the accident on a fault of Palli Bidyut and staged a demonstration seeking arrest of the officials responsible.
