Three meritorious students of Department of Law of Dhaka University (DU) were awarded ‘Professor Mahfuza Khanam-Barrister Shafique Ahmed Scholarship’ on the nineteenth instant for their outstanding academic results in LLB Honours examinations of 2014.
The recipients of scholarships are- Masrur Bin Ansari, Tashfiya Tasnim Tisha and Tashmia Sabera.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman distributed scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function at the VC’s lounge of the university, said a DU press release.
VC Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to maintain punctuality to make themselves as worthy citizens.
DU Treasurer Professor Kamal Uddin presided over the function while former Law Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Professor Dr M Imdadul Hoque, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Professor Dr S M Abdur Rahman.
Provost of the Salimullah Muslim Hall Professor Dr Md Mahabubul Alam Zoarder, Acting Registrar Md Enamuzzaman and donor of the trust fund Professor Mahfuza Khanam were present, among others, on this occasion, the release added.
