3 drug peddlers held , 1 3,800 yaba tablets recovered

Chittagong metropolitan police arrested three drug peddlers with 3,800 pieces of Yaba tablets in separate drives in the city’s DT road and Mariners road in the early hours of Saturday.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Rasheduzzaman, 30, of Jessore district, Shafiqul Islam,26, Kazi Riaz,24, both of them from Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola district.
On receipt of secret information, Pahartali thana police conducted a drive in the city’s DT road area under Pahartali thana and arrested drug trader Rashed with 3000 sex stimulating Yaba tablets after searching a CNG three-wheelers at around 2-30 am yesterday. Police recovered the Yaba from a biscuit packet.
In separate drives, a patrol team of Kotwali thana police conducted a drive in the city’s Mariners road area and arrested drug traders Shafique and Riaz with 800 sex stimulating Yaba tablets after searching another CNG three-wheelers at around 6-30am today. Police recovered the Yaba from packets of biscuits.
Two separate cases were filed with respective police stations in this connection.
UNB from Cox’s Bazar adds:Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 10,000 pieces of Yaba tablet at Hila Customs ghat in Teknaf upazila here on Saturday morning.
Tipped off, a team of BGB conducted a drive in the area and seized a boat along with some sacks containing crabs at about 9:30 am, saidHabildar Taribur Rahman of BGB-42.
Later, the border force recovered 10,000 Yaba tablets searching the sacks.
Sensing presence of the BGB men, the smugglers fled the scene.
