Three government doctors in Nilphamari have been remaining absent from their workplaces for years and authority concerned yet to get their response of show-cause notices sent by the authority concerned to their respective addresses several times.
The absent physicians are Dr. Imran Hasan posted as medical officer in Dimla Upazila Health Complex and Dr Mamunur Rashid, Medical Officer of Nautara Health Sub Center of same Dimla upazila.
The third one is Dr Shawkat Ali, Medical Officer of neighbouring Domar upazila health complex of the district.
The absent doctors even didn’t draw their monthly salary in this long period of their absence, informed Ansarul Islam, account of district health department.
Ranajit Kumar Barman, Civil Surgeon (CS) of Nilphamari said, “Being aware about the absent doctors, we sent official letters to them in their permanent home addresses three times but failed to get their response till now.”
Health directorate conducted probe against the absent doctors and found truth of the allegation but failed to contact with them though they are still attached with their previous official work places, the CS added.
UHFPO of Dimla Golam Sarwar informed that the absent physician Dr Imran Hasan having official code number 128843 joined as medical officer of Dimla upazila health complex on 7 August, 2014.
He started remaining absent from his work place since 1 August of 2015 after serving in the hospital for around one year.
The other physician Dr Mamunur Rashid having code number 126016 joined as medical officer of Nautara medical sub center under Dimla upazila health complex on 24 June, 2012.
He worked there for 40 days and then started remaining absent since 4 August of the same year, the Dimla UHFPO further said.
The third physician Dr Shafayat Ali joined as medical officer of Domar upazila health complex on 1 July, 2010.
It is strange to listen that he abstained from attending his work place since 2 July, the next day after his joining without giving his code number and other particulars to the office.
However, Dimla UHFPO quoting sources close to the absent doctors said that the three absent doctors working otherwise in abroad without informing the directorate and maintaining departmental procedure.
