Three persons including two youths died in separate incidents in the district during last 24 hours, police and hospital sources said.
The deceased were identified as Helal Uddin, 25, Enamul Haque, 53, and Mithun Ali, 20.
Helal Uddin, son of Younus Ali of Bhuanpara village under Puthiya Upazila, was injured seriously when his motorbike was hit by a truck from behind at Tarapur area on Rajshahi-Natore highway under the same upazila at around 12 noon yesterday. He was immediately rushed to the nearby health complex where the attending doctors declared him dead, said Hafizur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Puthiya Police Station. Police seized the truck but its driver and helper managed to escape from the scene.
School teacher Enamul Haque received grievous injuries when his motorbike collided head-on with another motorbike at his Aushpara village under Bagmara Upazila on Saturday afternoon.
