Two persons died as a trawler capsized and old man died in bath time in different area in Kalni River under Ajmeriganj Upazila of Habiganj district on Thursday evening.
In Shibpasa village, two died as a trawler capsized near the Shibpasa village under Hirabari Khal area under Shibpasa village in Kalni River in Ajmeriganj upazila of Habiganj district at 7pm on Thursday .
The deceased unidentified as Milon Kol, 18, son of Lakhiprosad Kol, Sumon Sobor, 19, son of Naraon Sobor in Klibdon Tea garden under Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar District. They identified by police on early Friday around 1am. They were workers of Ajmeriganj Pally Biduit Samity.
Police said the trawler carrying 6 passengers started with electricity polls for Shibpasa area to Paharpur bazar area in under Shibpasa village in Kalni River in Ajmeriganj upazila of Habiganj district on Thursday 7pm.
When the trawler reached of Hirabari khal area under River, it suddenly capsized in the River being hit by strong and heavy tree.
Most of the passengers workers out of the on board the vessel managed to swim ashore.
On information, a rescue team rushed to the spot and recovered body after a frantic search from the river.
Contacted, Toymur Bokht Chowdhury, OC of Ajmeriganj Police Station confirmed the matter to The New Nation. He said, we recovered the dead bodies from river and three injured.
