UNB, Chittagong :A court here on Monday put the three detained lawyers, including two of the Supreme Court, on remand in connection with a case filed with Hathazari Police Station.Those remanded are Barrister Shakila Farzana, 39, daughter of BNP leader and former whip Syed Wahidul Alam, adv Hasanuzzaman Liton, 30, hailing from Kushtia and a resident of Mirpur Section-10, and adv Mahfuz Chowdhury Bapon, 25.Hathazari senior judicial magistrate Mohammad Minhaj placed Barrister Shakila on a 48-hour remand from 2:00 pm on Monday, while Hasanuzzaman Liton and adv Mahfuz Chowdhury Bapon on a 72-hour each when Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) produced them before the court seeking a five-day remand for each.They were put on the fresh remand after they were shown arrested in a case filed with Hathazari Police Station after the arrest of 12 militant suspects from a madrasah of the area on February 19. Earlier on August 19, a court here put the three lawyers on a four-day remand each in an arms case, a day after their arrest from the capital’s Dhanmondi area on charge of terror financing.They were shown arrested in an arms case filed in connection with arms recovery from Latmoni hill in Banshkhali upazila on February 21. They were sent to jail on Sunday on the expiry of their four-day remand.
