A three-day workshop, titled ‘Industry- Responsive Skills: A Roadmap for Development’, will begin on Saturday at Sonargaon Hotel in the capital.
State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu will attend the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest while British High Commissioner in Dhaka Robert W Gibson as special guest.
Then the workshop, to be arranged by the British Council, will emphasise on the importance of skills development in national economic and social growth and also the importance of ensuring that this development is industry relevant and responsive with Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) playing a critical role.
The participants will address issues such as the mission and governance of ISCs, labour management information, sector research. They will also focus on the skills assessment system, including discussions on the design, approach and delivery of assessment and the training of assessors.
