A three-day workshop titled ‘Sustainable Management of Marine Ecosystem and Acidification Monitoring’ began at the seminar room of Center for Advance Research in Sciences on Dhaka University (DU) campus on Tuesday.
DU Oceanography Department organized the workshop for the officials of the Department of Environment (DoE).
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique chaired the inaugural function of the workshop, said a press release.
Moderated by the Oceanography Department Chairman Professor Dr Md Kawser Ahmed, the inaugural function was attended by DoE Director General Md Raisul Alam Mondal and DU Earth and Environmental Sciences Faculty Dean Professor Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, among others.
Along with DoE officials, DU teachers and representatives from various environmental organizations are taking part in the workshop.
Discussions and practical trainings will be held on coastal morphology, blue economy and the Bay of Bengal, energy and mineral resources of the Bay of Bengal, coastal hazards, coastal pollution in Bangladesh and ocean acidification in the three-day workshop.
