The residents of Bandar-Patenga constituency of Chittagong allowed three days times to local AL legislator MA Latif MP for seeking apology to the nation over committing offense on distorting the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman .
This ultimatum was given in a human chain formed in front of Chittagong Press Club yesterday morning under the banner of Bandar-Patenga Conscious Society Forum .
 The human chain was also told that if the lawmaker fails to ask apology to the nation, he will be declared persona non-grata in the city .Forum leader Haji Iqbal in the human chain said lawmaker on Saturday admitted his mistakes at a press conference held at WTC office in city where he blamed city AL President ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury .
 He said we are very much shocked over the distortation of Bangabandhu’s portrail and the nation want proper punishment for this audacity against the Father of the Nation.
The participants in the human chain frequently uttered slogans against the ruling party lawmaker . Among others President of city Sramik League Jahangir Alam also spoke on the occasion.

He claims he is a ‘victim of conspiracy’ and says he will track down those behind it.
The ruling MP was addressing a media conference at the World Trade Center in the port city to mark the 100th anniversary of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Pro-government students and youths have filed two cases against him demanding Tk 10 billion in damages for defaming the Bangabandhu.
They also allege Latif has links with Jamaat-e-Islami.
“A group has been harassing me since I got the Awami League’s ticket.
Through this (distortion), they have insulted the Awami League family,” Latif said.
He said the allegation brought against him was false.
“No one in his right frame of mind would commit such a despicable act,” he said.
He also said he had discussed the issue with party seniors who, he says, do not believe he was involved in it.
“They have asked me to find out quickly who did this.
And I will do so,” the MP said.
