A three-day long foundation training course on journalism was inaugurated at Chittagong Press Club (CPC) auditorium yesterday.
Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) and Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) jointly organized the training programme for the local journalists.
CUJ President Reaz Hayder Chowdhury presided over the inaugural session while Chairman of Chittagong Zilla Parisad M A Salam attended the function as Chief Guest.
M A Salam said, mass media, as the mirror of the society, plays a vital role in creating awareness among the people. CPC President Kolim Sarwar, Vice President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Shahidul Alam, CUJ General Secretary Mohammad Ali, BFUJ Joint Secretary Tapan Chakoroborti, CUJ senior vice President Tapan Chakro Borti, and CUJ vice President Ratan Kanti Devasis spoke on the occasion.
