A three day training on investigative reporting and foundation course for journalists in second batch has concluded at Mymensingh Press Club Auditorium here.
Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) organised the training programme in cooperation with the Mymensingh Press Club.
PIB Director General (DG) Zafar Wazed presided over the concluding ceremony yesterday. Chairman of Zila Parishad Prof. Yusuf khan Pathan was present as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants.
The function was addressed, among others, by Vice president of the press club AQZM Imam Uddin Mukta, D. Nurullah, club Secretary Md. Babul Hossen and Journalist Meer Golam Mustafa.
Zafar Wazed said the journalists have been playing a vital role in publishing news during the Covid-19 period.
At the beginning of Covid-19, the journalists performed their professional duties with risk, he said.
Considering their brave role, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave financial helps to newsmen from the journalists’ welfare fund, he added.
A total of 70 journalists took part in the training in two groups.
Of them, 35 Journalists took training on investigative reporting in Mymensingh Sadar and 35 on Foundation Training in four upazilas – Phulpur, Dobaura, Ishwargonj and Muktagacha – of the district.
