A 3-day long gold Fair has started at the Pelican Mehjabin Building at city Agrabad CDA residential yesterday City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin was present as Chief Guest at the inauguration ceremony on Sunday. National Board of Revenue (Administration of Tax Administration and Human Resources) Kalipad Haldar, was present as Special Guest.
He said gold traders had long-term frustration. They were being harassed. They are thinking about the welfare of the people and the benefits of the people. As part of this initiative, wehave taken legal steps to legitimize the gold business. Gold traders will have to use this opportunity.
He said that the traders have a big contribution in changing the country. The government doesnot impose unnecessary tax on traders. There are no merchants who are bankrupt. Taxes fromthe country's liability. Make the country move forward. The country's prosperity in the taxmoney is being spent on the development of the country. Businessmen know well, the respect of the country passport increased. City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin spoke this at the opening ceremony of the gold Fair. National Board of Revenue (Administration of Tax Administration and Human Resources) Kalipad Haldar, Custom Excise and VAT Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Haque, President of
Chittagong Tax Bar Association. Jamal Uddin and Bangladesh Jewelery Association Chittagong President Mrinal Kanti Dhar was present in the Inaugural Ceremony.

Kalipad Haldar said, "NBR is not only Dhaka centric." The vast majority of the country;srevenue comes from Chittagong. The fact that I saw in Chittagong in 2005 was much betterthan that. Flyover has been there.
He said the savings of people from the time of the tragedy were gold. Gold business is comingafter generations.
The present government has announced gold policy. There is no reason tofear the traders. This is a great opportunity, doing business with cheating. Come to the mainstream. I assure that the traders will not be harassed because of the gold policy.
Mohammad Enamul Haque said, the range and impact of these fairs will be for hundreds of years. The government is giving legitimacy to the gold business investment for the first time.

Mrinal Kanti Dhar said that the real traders are facing harassment even after the gold dealers income tax, revenue, business license fee of CCC and the dealing license fee.
