A three-day Land Development Tax Fair-2016 began in the city on Wednesdaytoday with a view to easing realisation of land tax from land owners.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chittagong Mejbah Uddin formally inaugurated the fair at Chandgaon Circle Land Office premises in the city.
The fair with the theme “Pay Land Development Tax, keep safe your land ownership” will continue till Friday.
Chittagong district administration sources said the first-ever Land Development Tax Fair is being held aimed at easing land development tax realisation and ensuring quick realisation of land tax.
Besides collecting land development tax, the land officials would provide land related information and services to the visitors and receive mutation application forms in the fair.
DC Mejbah Uddin also declared stimulus packages for different assistant land officials on the basis of their skills in realising land development tax.
Deputy Land Collector Moksedur Rahman and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abdul Jalil, among others, were present in the function.
