A three-day international tourism fair began in city on Thursday morning with a view to exploring country’s potentiality in tourism sector.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon inaugurated the fair dubbed “US-BANGLA Airlines Dhaka Travel Mart 2017” at Ball Room of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel as chief gust.
The 14th edition of the Dhaka Travel Mart (DTM) is being organized by Travel and Tourism Publication, Bangladesh Monitor with the support of private carrier US-BANGLA Airlines.
National carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the airline partner of the DTM.
Speaking at the inaugural function as chief guest, Rashed Khan Menon said militancy is hindering the growth of country’s tourism.
“But, we will overcome the hurdle of extremism with our inner strength like in the past,” said the minister, referring to the turning back after the heinous attack in a Gulshan cafe.
