A three-day Information Fair began in the city yesterday aiming to create mass awareness about their right to information.
Khulna District Administration, the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) and Conscious Citizen Committee (CCC) Khulna District Unit jointly organised the fair at the deputy commissioner’s office premises.
A discussion on ‘Citizen Awareness for Implementing the Right to
Information Act-2009′ was held at the first day of the fair, followed by a cultural function.
Deputy Commissioner Amin-ul-Ahsan, ACC Director Dr Abul Hasan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahangir Hossain and TIB Programme Manager Rajesh Adhikari, among others, spoke at the meeting.
A total of 35 stalls will be set up at the fair venue. The fair will remain open for all from 10 am to 8 pm every day.
Organisers said various programmes, including discussion, anti-corruption debate, drama, film show and cultural function, will be arranged during the three-day fair.
