3-day Eid holiday Public servants must stay at place

The government has no plan to extend the Eid-ul-Azha holidays from three days while the public servants must to stay put at their station during the three-day vacation.
Cabinet Division Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam informed this while briefing the journalists after the regular Cabinet meeting at the Secretariat on Monday.
The Cabinet meeting was held with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
The PM joined the meeting through a videoconference from her official residence Ganobhaban, while other cabinet members were connected from the Secretariat.
He said the Eid-ul-Azha holiday may fall on July 31 or August 1 subject to the sighting of the new moon.
The three-day government holiday will be on the Eid day and one day before and after the Eid day.
This year, Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated amid the Covid-19 pandemic during the government-declared 66-day general holidays. Government offices have opened on a limited scale.
The government has no plan to declared extended holidays for the Eid-ul-Azha.
