3-day dev fair begins today

The government is set to arrange a three-day ‘Development Fair’ at upazila and district levels across the country from today (Thursday) aiming to show the government’s multiple development initiatives and successes.
The main objective of the fair is to inform the country’s people about the development initiatives and the ongoing programmes the government has taken to build Bangladesh a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed one by 2041.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the fair tomorrow through a video conference from Ganobhaban, marking the Home Coming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a handout said.
The development fair will also be held abroad with a view to ensuring participation of the Bangladeshi expatriates in the development initiatives taken by the present Awami League government.
As per the directives of Chief Coordinator of the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) at the Prime Minister Office Md Abul Kalam Azad, senior secretaries and secretaries of different ministries and divisions are coordinating and supervising field level works to this end.
