A three-day international conference on Electrical Engineering and Information and Communication Technology (EEICT-14) organized by Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) began at the MIST campus in the city on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said, “It is a great privilege for our engineers to present their research work to the rest of the world. I do believe that this conference will bring about a global co-operation and collaboration among the participants.” Chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh Prof A K Azad Chowdhury, Acting Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Mainul Islam, Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral M Farid Habib and Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari, Commandant of MIST and President of the Conference Major General Md. Siddiqur Rahman Sarker addressed as special guests. Vice-chancellors and professors of different universities, high-ranking civil and military officials were present on the occasion.
The event was attended by more than 400 delegates from home and abroad. Renowned academicians, professors, researchers, students and keynote speakers from different countries including Sri Lanka, China, India, Belgium, and Malaysia attended the conference.
