3-day CAPEXCO inaugurated

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed MP said tha the Government has decided to extend assistance at the rate of 0.25% to RMG factory owners to overcome the present crisis of Tazreen Fashion incident and Rana Plaza collapse .
 He further disclosed that govt also decided to decrease gain tax to 3% from present 8% and to extend cooperation to RMG owners to 3% from existing 2% to boost the RMG market abroad.
After introduction of the this govt decision, the RMG owners will gain austerity of Tk.1100 cr per year.
Commerce Minister was addressing the inaugural session of 3-day long Chittagong Apparel, Fabrics & Excessories exposition (CAPEXCO)-2014 at Chittagong MA Aziz stadium outdoor gynmisium yesterday as Chief guest.
The minister in his address said Bangladesh still stands in first row in exporting RMG products to EU countries but some obstructions experienced last year due to violances of the opposition parties but still remains in first row. Following the contribution in export trade amid political chaos in the country earlier , govt has decided to extend assistance to the RMG sector .
 The minister further said out of total export trade of the country , RMG sector only exported readymade products of about 22 billion dollars and hoped that this export target will reach by 30 billion dollar from this sector in 2015 which will ultimately increase 50 billion dollar by end of 2021 .
