Three children drowned in a pond at Mamunshia village of Kotchgandpur upazila in Jhenaidah on Monday noon. They were identified as Ria and Nirab, the children of Joynal Mandal and Murad, son of Nani Mandal of the village. They are aged between 9 and 10, the locals said.
Locals said, they were playing together since the morning. The locals found three bodies floating on the pond water nearby their houses and recovered the bodies.
Kotchandpur police station Officer-in-Charge Ahmed Kabir Hossain said, he was informed about the tragic death of three children at a time in same place.
Unnatural death (UD) cases will be filed in this connection, OC said.
