UNB, Dhaka :
Three people suffered burn injuries in a gas explosion at Banglabazar in old part of the city on Friday evening.
The injured were identified as Md Kalu, 40, his niece Yeasfee, 20, and gas stove mechanic Ramzan, 40.
Quoting locals, police said local mechanic Ramzan was repairing gas burners at the house at 26/1 Hemanta Das lane in the evening.
The gas went off around 7:30pm when he switched on the light at the kitchen, said officer-in-charge of Sutrapur Police Station Khalilur Rahman Patwari.
The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where their condition was stated to be critical.
