Three burn injured patients died at the Burn Unit of the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in last three days.
They have been identified as Murad, Abul Kalam and Kachhiran Nesa. They were seriously injured in petrol bombs attack in separate incidents.
Twelve more patients are still undergoing treatment in the Burn Unit. The hospital doctors said that the condition of patients is still critical.
A nurse of Ward-503 said that the ward admitted six bomb victims. Of them, one was transferred to the Incentive Care Unit (ICU) for his serious condition on Friday noon.
Anwara Begum, aunt of Masum, 15, a victim, said that the health condition of her nephew was deteriorating.
Bus helper Masum was wounded in a petrol bomb attack on the night of January 14 when he was sleeping in his bus parked at Madhobdi in Narshingdi district. He received burn injuries in his face and two hands.
Mohammad Selim, 35, a driver of a four-wheeler human hauler, received injuries in his face and chest at 7:30 pm on January 11 when he was returning from Mugda to Motijheel driving his vehicle.
Amullah Chandra Roy,40, was attacked in front of the Tejgaon Mohila College in the city on January 10 at the time of his returning home in Panchagarh district.
Dr Partha Sarker Pal, Chief of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of DMCH said that all of the patients are still in danger.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Bangladesh Awami League on Friday visited the burn injured patients undergoing treatment in the Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s Burn Unit.
The team leader and Publicity Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud called upon all to stop the violence in the name of politics.
He called the patrons of violence traitors. Each patient was given Tk 5,000 for treatment.
