Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained three members of India Border Security Force (BSF) at Char Majhar Diyar in Godagari frontier upazila on Monday morning for their alleged intrusion into Bangladesh territory.
Shamim Uddin, commanding officer of BGB-1 battalion, said three BSF men ‘mistakenly’ crossed the border into Bangladesh
around 7:30 am and they were wandering around, prompting the BGB troops to detain them.
“The BSF members have made the mistake due to thick fog as there’s no demarcated border line in the area,” said the BGB official.
Shamim said, the BSF men will be handed over to Indian authorities after a flag meeting.
