Three youths including two engineers who are also brothers killed in a road accident on the Toll Road in the port city on Sunday.
They were identified as Engineer Akter Bin Jaman Irshad (28), Jawat Bin Jaman (22) and Mohammed Sadman Alam (20). Of the victims Engineer Akter Bin Jaman Irshad and Engineer Jawat Bin Jaman were the son of Mohammad Kamruzzaman of Madarbari area in the port city and another victim Mohammad Sadman Alam was the cousin of the two victims.
Sources and family members said three brothers went to the Toll Road in the port city on Sunday night by their private car and Akhter Bin Jaman Irshad lost his control over the steering and the car fell under the Toll Road at around 11 pm. As a result, two brothers Engineer Akhter Bin Jaman Irshad and Engineer Jawat Bin Jaman killed on the spot while rest injured victim Mohammad Sadman Alam was killed on the way to hospital.
The uncle of the victims journalist Mohammad Shamsul Huda Mintu said, Mohammed Sadman Alam was the son of his sister and Engineer Akhter Bin Jaman Irshad and Engineer Jawat Bin Jaman were the sons of his brother.
My brother’s sons were living in USA and returned home last week for Eid. They went to the Toll Road in the port city by their private car and Akhter Bin Jaman Irshad lost his control over the steering and the car fell under the Toll Road.
“It is unfortunate that we have lost our three children at a time. We have lost my another sister’s son in a road accident five years ago. Now, we have lost three sons at a time,” he added.
The namaj e janaja of the ill fated victims were held at Malum Mosque at Madarbari after Johr prayer and later they were buried at the 22 Moholla’s grave yard at Chaittyonyo Goli in the port city.
