A mobile court has recovered about 150 acres of government khas land in Kattli Circle and CDA Link Road area of the port city by evicting three brick kilns built on government khas land. On Tuesday the mobile court conducted eviction operations in the kattli circle of the city on the shores of the Bay of Bengal and on these khas lands adjacent to the CDA Link Road.
Chattogram Executive Magistrate led the eviction campaign with the help of the Department of Environment.
Magistrate Md. Umar Farooq told media that two brick kilns were built by occupying more than 100 acres of government khas land next to the protected forest area on the shores of the Bay of Bengal in North Kattli.
Besides, another brick kiln was built up by occupying government khas land in Bayezid-Faujdarhat Link Road area.
He said three brick kilns in these areas were evicted yesterday under the direction of the district administration.
About 150 acres of government khas land has been recovered during the drives.
The Chattogram district administration official said work was underway to set up boundary marks and poles to keep the recovered khas land free from occupation.
