3 BCL men stabbed in Sylhet

Sylhet Correspondent :Three BCL activists were stabbed in a clash over establishing supremacy in Madan Mohan College in Sylhet city yesterday afternoon.The injured Saytajit Das, Sayem Ahmed and Rakin Ahmed, are students of the college. All of them are BCL activists of the Sylhet District Unit and were admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. Md Sohel Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station, told that additional policemen were deployed in the area to avert further clash.The clash is a sequel to the long-drawn internal feud between the two groups, said sources.Supporters of the groups locked into clash following a debate over a trifling matter in front of the college around 2:00pm. Police rushed in and brought the situation under control.Shahriar Alam Samad, BCL President of Sylhet district unit described it as an internal clash.Benu Chandra Das, SI of Kotwali Police Station, said that three activists from each side that were stabbed in the incident.
