3 BCL men held for demanding money from Nandail OC

Three activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were detained for trying to extort Tk 20,000 from Nanadail Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamrul Islam Miah in Mymensingh on Sunday.
Arrestees are Raju, former vice-president of upazila unit, Royal, ex organizing secretary of the the upazila unit, and Kamrul Hasan, activist of the local BCL, said Kamrul Islam Miah, OC of Nandail Police Station.
District Additional Superintendent (Gouripur circle) of Police Shaker Hossain Siddiquee told our local correspondent the four were sent by their leader, WahidulAlam, a former secretary of Nandail upazila unit Chhatra League to extort money from the OC.
They appeared before the police officer and demanded the money from him, triggering an altercation at the spot. Eventually, the four were detained.
Latest report said, a case was filed with the police station in this connection, said Nurul Islam, Superintendent of Police (SP) of the district.
Rakibul Islam Rokib, president of Mymensingh district Chhatra League, condemned the incident and demanded punishment of the detained activists after proper investigation, he said.
