Delhi police have arrested three Bangladeshis in a robbery case.
The arrested are Mohammad Khairul alias Arman, 46, Mohammad Sadiq Sheikh, 29, and Montu Mulla, 30, reports The Times of India.
They were wanted in a case filed over a robbery in Kavi Nagar under Ghaziabad and 18 other burglary cases in Delhi NCR (national capital region), police said on Saturday.
According to police, the accused used to run off to Bangladesh after robbing a place and later return to India.Police said on February 28, four people entered a house in the Kavi Nagar area after cutting window grills. Afterwards, they held the family residing there at gunpoint and stole all their valuable items.
A gang led by Khairul was involved in several atrocious crimes in India, police discovered during their investigation.
Acting on a tip-off, police laid a trap and the accused were subsequently arrested on Friday, said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shibesh Singh.
Police recovered tools for housebreaking, jewellery and expensive wristwatches from their possession.
Shibesh Singh said Khairul met with Rajeev Srivastava, one his accomplices, in Tihar Jail in 2012, who helped the gang rent houses and cars for committing crimes.
They generally targeted homes in upscale areas, the police official added.
