Members of Detective Branch (DB) in a drive arrested three alleged yaba traders including a father and his son with 5,400 pieces of yaba tablets from Shah Amanat Bridge area in the city on Tuesday noon.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Aftaf Mia, 59, alias Babu, his son Al Amin, 20, hailed from Patgoti of Munshipara village in Gopalgonj district and Nehar Ranjon Mollik, 20, son of Nerapad Mollik hailed from Dumuria Shib Nagar area in Khulna district.
On a tip-off, a team of DB police arrested them from north side of the Bridge and recovered the yaba tablets after searching their bag.
Mainul Islam, senior assistant commissioner of DB police, told journalists that legal action is under process against them.
