3 arrested with 10,000 Yabas in Ramu

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) 15 has arrested three men with 10,000 yaba tablets in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.
The arrestees are Manjur Alam, 38, son of Mohammad Nabi from Ramu’s Rajarkul area, Akhter Hossain, 30, son of Sona Ali from Ukhia East-Maricha area and Jafar Alam, 60, son of late Chehar Ali of Maricha Barabil.
They were arrested with the yaba tablets from the Football Chattar bypass area on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway, RAB-15 said in a notification.
The notice, signed by Cox’s Bazar RAB 15 Assistant Director Abdullah Mohammad Sheikh Saadi, also said that on information, one of their team conducted an operation in front of Ramu City Park adjacent to the Football Chattar area.
They searched three men on suspicion and found 10,000 yaba tablets, packed in polythene bags, in their possession.
During the primary interrogation, the detainees confessed about smuggling yaba and they were handed over to Ramu police station.
A case has been filed in this regard under the relevant law, the notice added.
