Police arrested three people including a woman for their alleged involvement in the killing of newly elected chairman and local Awami League leader Abul Kashem from Raghunathpur and Burindia villages in Chowgachha upazila of Jessore district early Monday.
The arrestees were identified as Kabir Hossain, son of Ansar Ali of Raghunathpur village, Kabir’s sister-in-law Dolly Begum, wife of Abdus Shukur, and Wadud, son of Nabed Ali of Burindia village.
Officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotwali Police Station Elias Hossain said tipped off, a team of police conducted separate drives at Raghunathpur and Burindia villages and arrested them in the dead of night.
