Three alleged dacoits were lynched at Baherchar under Barojalia union in Hizla of Barisal district on Monday early morning.
The dead bodies were identified as Miraz Molla, Harun Bepari from Khunna-Govindapur and Hanif Sardar from Bausia under Hizla upazila and aged about 26-29 years. Golam Sarwar, Hizla police station officer in charge, said police recovering five sharp weapons and the dead bodies from the spot near a betel-leaf plantation yesterday early morning.
The dead bodies sent to Barisal Sher-e- Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Local people becoming aware about gathering of a suspected group of 11/13 with sharp weapon in the area chased them and succeeded to nab three of them. The victims were lynched by the mob as members of ‘Yusuf Bahini’ accused in different criminal cases including dacoity, the OC Hizla PS told. Assistant sub inspector Bazlur Rashid will lodge two cases in connection of lynching the victims and preparations for dacoity, the OC Hizla PS added.
