A defence lawyer in the case filed over the militant attack on the capital’s Holey Artisan Bakery in 2016, yesterday submitted arguments, seeking acquittal of three accused out of the eight accused.
On Wednesday, defence lawyer Mohammad Delwar Hossain submitted arguments on behalf of three accused. They are, Rashedul Islam alias Abu Jarra alias Rash, who is told as an accomplice of Bangladeshi origin Canadian citizen Tamim Chowdhury; arms and
explosives supplier Neo JMB leader Hadisur Rahman Sagar and militant Rakibul Hasan Regan.
Later, Judge Md Mojibur Rahman of Anti-Terror Special Tribunal fixed November 17 for further submission of arguments on behalf of other accused.
State Counsel Golam Sarwar Zakir concluded his arguments on November 7, pleading maximum punishment for the eight accused. Immediately after the defence counsels started placing their arguments but could not conclude.
