The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday placed three accused in the blogger Niloy murder case on a five-day remand each to them about the incident.
Magistrate Kaisarul Islam of the court passed the order after hearing on a ten-day remand of Metropolitan DB Police Inspector and Investigation Officer of the case Shaikh Mahmudur Rahman.
The three accused persons are- Mufti Moulana Abdul Gaffar, Mortuza Faisal Sabbir and Tarequl Alam Tareq. On November 17, Gaffar was arrested from Sonargaon of Narayangonj, Sabbir from Kanchpur of the same district, while Tareq was
nabbed from Sitakunda of Chittagong.
Earlier, on August 27, Kaiser Hossain Khan, 29 and Kamal Hossain Sardar were arrested for their suspected involvement in the incident. They were sent to the jail on completion nine days’ remand in the case.
On August 14, State Minister for Labour Affairs, Mujibur Rahman Chunnu’s nephew Saad Al Nahian and Masum Rana were also put on eight days’ remand each.
On August 7, miscreants entered into the Goran residence of blogger Neeladri Chattapaddaya and hacked him to death. Victim’s wife Ashamoni lodged the murder case with Khilgaon Police Station of the capital against four unidentified people.
