The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested three persons in connection with the kidnapping and killing of Golam Rabbi, a student of city’s Institute of Science and Technology (IST).
The arrested men have been identified as Shah Nur Sheikh, 22, Biplop Mollah, 28, and Raja Pramanik, 38.
RAB’s Assistant Director (Media Wing) Maksudul Alam disclosed the matter in a press briefing at the elite force’s Headquarters in the city’s Uttra area on Friday.
The elite force’s officials said that a team of RAB-4 conducted a drive in the capital and Pabna and arrested them around 12:30am. Of them, two members were arrested from Pabna and one from the capital.
A legal action would be taken against them, the RAB man said.
Miscreants kidnapped Golam Rabbi (20), son of Anwar Hossain from the capital’s Kallyanpur area recently and killed him as his family refuse to pay ransom, sources said.
Golam Rabbi’s body was recovered from Pabna on November 2, they added.
